We help Romanians Adopt and Foster Children
Children in Families
Every child needs a family, so we help Romanians adopt and foster children. Parenting is hard, parenting a child who has suffered abandonment and abuse is even harder. That is why we train and provide ongoing counseling for the families we help, not just before placement but after the child comes into their home.
Adoptive Family Camp
Adoptive families are not alone. Every year we have families come from around Romania for a week of training, making friends and therapeutic activities for the whole family. This July we are expecting 40 families. You can help with a donation.
Training Adoptive Families
Couples who want to adopt in Brasov County Romania are sent to us by Child Protection for training. Our course covers common difficulties adoptive families face around attachment, accepting infertility, relationships with extended family and other issues.
Continuing Ed. For Foster Parents
Children in foster care need love and understanding. Each year we give all the foster parents of our county a one week course. In 2019 we focused on Trauma, Sleep and development. This year we will focus on media and video games as well as preventing childhood sexual abuse.
Post Adoption Counseling
Adoption doesn’t end in the court-house. We are here beside parents and children in the ups and downs of healing through abandonment, infertility, unmet expectations and discipline issues. Meeting with families on a weekly basis for counseling and hosting support groups for adoptive families. Where they can learn and make friends.
